Do you enjoy exploring cultural areas? How about checking out small local businesses, unique restaurants or trendy bars? What was once known as a trolley stop with warehouses and shops in the 1930s, went through a serious decline in the 1960s, only to reawaken as one of the most unique neighborhoods in Dallas TX. Today this district is known as a popular spot for locals and tourists to walk through and enjoy a slew of exciting businesses and a great variety of entertainment.
One of the most important aspects of this area is its historic significance. Many of the original buildings still stand, and even the newer remodeled areas retain their original historic architecture. With such an iconic style, it’s good to know that a section of Bishop Arts is in the National Register of Historic Places. This area contains many structures that have been around since the 1930s and give a unique feel to the neighborhood.
Bishop Arts has a great classic style to it, but it isn’t some old and stale neighborhood either. The streets are filled with trendy colorful art and businesses. From record stores and comic book stores to fancy restaurants and shops, there is something for everyone here.
In my experience, the Bishop Arts District has slowly become one of the trendiest spots for any age group. This neighborhood has been undergoing major improvements, making it all more appealing to locals and tourists alike. This development has also helped increase it’s popularity over the years. The entire district is now more lively, with everything from ice cream shops to bars and high end restaurants. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Bishop Arts is a great place to check out. Being just a few minutes from downtown Dallas, it’s good to note that Dallas provides D-Link (Service Shuttle) to the Dallas Streetcar, which is a small train that takes you from Bishop Arts to Union Station. All of this is currently free of charge, but it’s hard to say how much longer this will last, so don’t miss out!
